Chapchar Kut (March)
Chapchar Kut is celebrated in the month of March. It is the start of spring and nature starts playing with colour. This heralds the festive mood in the lives of Mizos and they prepare themselves to celebrate Chapchar Kut, the festival of happiness. It is considered to be the most important traditional festival of Mizoram and is celebrated with great pomp and splendour.
 
Pawl Kut (December)
Pawl Kut in Mizoram is a colorful harvest festival that is accompanied with ballet, songs and jollity. There is a historical concoction to the Pawl Kut Festival. In the ancient times the Mizos had been staying in the eastern part of the Tiau River. This is in Chin Hills, presently contained by the Burma Border. Once these Mizos faced a strong challenge because for three consecutive years there was no rain and the fields were dry and incapable of producing crops. So, they asked for the blessings of God who listened to their request and send them rain. In that year there was a bumper crop. Men of Mizoram rejoiced the bliss with tremendous zeal and enthusiasm. From here the Pawl Kut Festival in Mizoram emerged.
 
Christmas (December)
Christmas in Mizoram is regarded as one of the biggest celebrations of the place. Held from the 24th to 26th of December, Christmas is followed in Mizoram for three whole days. Since the majority of the Mizoram population belongs to the Christian faith, Christmas festival is followed in the place with much fanfare.
 
Mim Kut (August/September)
Mim Kut is an annual festival celebrated in the state of Mizoram. More than a festival it is a vibrant and colorful cultural fiesta that is celebrated with great fun and frolic. Mim Kut is basically a Maize Festival and is very important as far as the fairs and festivals of Mizoram are considered. Mim Kut festival is especially dedicated towards invoking the dead souls and offering tribute to them. According to this ritual offerings are made to the near and dear ones who passed away in the previous year.
 
Thalfavang Kut (November)
The festival of Thalfavang Kut is an extremely popular and widely celebrated festival in Maizoram. It is an annual festival, held in the month of November. Unlike other harvest festivals that are celebrated after the successful completion of harvest, the festival of Thalfavang Kut is celebrated before harvest.
